My Favorite Year -Destroyer


As with the 2006 release, Destroyer's Rubies, I had to listen to Destroyer's latest album, Trouble in Dreams, several times before I liked it. Destroyer's Rubies turned out to be one of my favorite albums from that year. That album was my first experience with Destroyer - singer/songwriter Daniel Bejar. The second experience lacks the novelty of the first, but it is a nice extension of Bejar's sound. The opening song, Blue Flower/Blue Flame, is another favorite from the album.

Caught a limited performance from him last year playing with the New Pornographers at the Boulder Theater. Glad to see he's got a solo show at the Walnut Room in Denver March 3rd!
